Well, yes, that's the whole point of this clash: the fact that EA won't be able to slap the FIFA logo on the cover of its next football game or use the term in general.

But EA can survive this, it's not the first time a franchise is doing a re-branding. The "EA Sports FC" trademark the company has already filed is perfectly serviceable. FIFA, on the other hand, will have to work with another game developer/publisher in order to have an official FIFA game and, get this: chances are that people will be mistaking this with EA's past games at first. Such is the bond created by EA between the FIFA brand and its franchise in 28 years.

I really do not see how FIFA can find a way out of this and spin it as a positive. It will probably cave in at some point in Q1 2022 but it will be too late as EA will already have plans for an "EA Sports FC" title for September. This is what greed leads to, most of the time.
