Totally agree, Wi-Fi 6E didn't even have the time to start appearing in enough product spec lists before we started talking about Wi-Fi 7. It's just crazy.
As I mentioned in the article, I myself cannot easily imagine consumer use case scenarios where Wi-Fi 7 would be necessary to have for the foreseeable future. Even if one does have an Internet connection that's faster than a Gigabit one, there are still no applications that can take advantage of it.
5G's latency 1ms is theoretical too, let alone Wi-Fi 7's. Only way we can have 1ms latency right now and for the foreseeable future is through a wired connection. If manufacturers promise anything different in the next e.g. 3-4 years, I'll believe it when I see it.
