The NT core was indeed a good one and definitely ahead of its time, but it would not work as well today with modern operating systems having different priorities… I think. Something along those lines, though, more modular, on-demand and expandable would be interesting to see.

I’m afraid that everything will have just moved to the cloud by the time Microsoft developed something like that. An optimized Linux core paired with a nice GUI would be more like it!
