That would have been beneficial to everyone, sure, but — since it’s not really happening — throwing better hardware at Windows is the only option we have. At least this one does work.

Let’s be honest here: not everyone is ready to switch to Linux just because he/she means to use a hard disk as a system drive. In my humble opinion, we’ve been using HDDs for way too many years already. I wouldn’t touch a PC that boots off a hard disk nowadays.
