Even if money did not change hands, it’s perfectly clear that both the HDMI LA and the HDMI Forum do not take decisions based on what’s best for the consumers but on what’s convenient for manufacturers.

Which is, if you think about it, extremely stupid to begin with: all parties SHOULD be making things easier for consumers to understand, so the latter can make more informed decisions and be happy with their purchases instead of confused or remorseful.

But… it’s the same old story: shortsightedness and lust for short-term profit. Manufacturers, after all the tech market has been through, have learned nothing. And the HDMI LA, as well as the HDMI Forum, are helping them. Disgraceful.
