But... you know what? Even with everything you mention a given, I would not have objected to a new version of Windows after 10... even one that actually needed better/more secure hardware... IF the new version brought important new stuff to the table and IF it was not a half-baked mess.
What Microsoft wanted us to do is get new computers for pretty much nothing new of actual importance or value AND put up with the fact that we'd all be used as free beta testers while it's fleshing out and fixing Windows 11.
To hell with that. No consumer user in his right mind has to put up with this shit anymore. Yes, Windows is the most popular OS, but it's not the only one. We have more options than ever and some of us intend to explore them soon.
